ShopBack Review - How I earned $100

 

During 11.11 sales last year, I took the opportunity to buy a laptop from Lenovo which cost me roughly $2100. To reduce the cost further, I decided to use ShopBack to get some additional cashback. With a few additional clicks, I managed to get $100 cashback from it (roughly 4.5% of total cost)

Now that I have received my cashback from ShopBack, I would like to share with you this deal that you should not miss.

What is ShopBack

ShopBack is a cashback site that gives you back a portion of your spending when you make an online purchase through them. They essentially act as a gateway for online merchants where they would earn a commission for each purchase we made via them. To incentivize us, ShopBack would share these commissions with us via cashback, creating a win-win situation for both parties.

How to earn cashback

1. Once you have log in, click on the store of your choice on the ShopBack webpage/app.
2. You will be redirected to the selected shop online webpage where you can shop as you normally would
3. Add to cart and check out like you normally would 
4. Checkback your ShopBack account for the cashback
5. Once the cashback has been credited to you, you can withdraw your earnings into your bank account or PayPal.

ShopBack Go

Apart from online shopping, ShopBack has also launched ShopBack GO. lets you earn cashback when you spend at physical (offline) shops like restaurants and retail stores. All you have to do is to link your Visa or MasterCard with ShopBack and pay with your linked card at any partner stores.

ShopBack tips

ShopBack has an app that you can use to browse for deals. You can consider downloading it so that you can browse for deals on the go.

Next, consider getting the ShopBack Button Extension on your chrome. With this, it will automatically find the best discounts for you when you are on their partner sites. From there you can activate cashback without going to the ShopBack site.

Downside of ShopBack

It can take up to a few months for ShopBack to verify your purchase and subsequently credit you the cashback. This is the case for me whereby my cashback from the laptop purchase was only redeemable after more than 2 months.  

Besides, there is a minimum of $10 for each withdrawal.

Apart from these, ShopBack is great for you to earn back some cash with minimal effort. As such, there is no harm in using it.
